It took overtime, but the Georgia State men’s team won’t regret the extra soreness in their legs this morning after knocking off the #2 ranked Wake Forest Demon Deacons in Winston-Salem last night.
Despite being outshot 20-8, the Panthers kept their goal tightly sealed in open play. Each team converted a penalty kick during regulation to send it to overtime at 1-1.
In extra time, GSU senior Rashid Alarape punched a loose ball home to give his team the win.
The result improves Georgia State to 3-1 in the early portion of their season.
